Texas Department of Public Safety
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is a statewide law enforcement agency focused on protecting the lives, property, and rights of the people of Texas. With a diverse team of dedicated professionals, DPS maintains high standards of integrity, accountability, and service. The department handles many public safety functions, including highway patrol, criminal investigations, emergency management, and driver licensing. Through partnerships, technology, and community engagement, the Texas DPS works hard to create a safe and secure environment for all citizens.

OPS
Oversees troopers who fail to comply with regulations or orders. This division serves as a disciplinary body for the Troopers of TDPS.

Training Bureau
Responsible for training new troopers and qualifying them to use various weapons, vehicles, and more.

High Speed Unit
They conduct high visibility patrol; deterring, detecting and interdisciplinary action public safety threats on the roadways; responding to critical events and conditions on Texas roadways; providing statewide emergency response and rescue.

Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers conduct major violent crime, public corruption, cold case and officer involved shooting investigations and oversee the department’s border security and tactical and crisis negotiation

CAT
CAT will be responsible for locating and apprehending suspects who evade initial arrest, ensuring that no criminal escapes justice. This unit previously existed but was disbanded due to some internal issues, which have since been fully resolved.
